People with Good Heart
Here’s the thing about people with good hearts.
They give you excuses when you don’t explain yourself.
They accept apologies you don’t give them even though you should.
They see the best in you even if you don’t need them to.
At worst, they lift you even if it means putting their priorities aside.
The words “too busy” does not exist in their vocabulary.
They make time even if you don’t.And you wonder why they are the most sensitive people.
You wonder why they are the most caring people.
You wonder why they are willing to give you so much without expecting anything in return.
You wonder why their existence is not so essential to your well-being.It’s because they don’t let you work hard for the attention they give you.
They accept the love they think they’ve earned, and you think they’re entitled, too.Let me tell you something.
Fear the day when a good heart gives up on you.
Our skies don’t become gray out of nowhere.
Our sunshine does not allow darkness to take over for no reason.
A good heart does not turn cold, unless its been treated with coldness for a while.
But its contents are dangerous. Immediately, I understand the call for engagement and since literally I don’t have a good heart, I could easily discern one who doesn’t have a good heart. It takes a thief to know a thief. I would like to take the cudgels for my other children who are somehow are insinuated of having no good hearts of their own. Just because they give no excuses when others don’t explain themselves. How did the anonymous authors know that anyway? Are they privy to the excuses my other children suggest when others do not mind explaining at all? I am amazed at the expectations the authors have especially when they only recognize people who accept apologies which are not made at all and those who can see the best in one even if there is no need. Again, I find it incredulous since I feel only the Twin Hearts of Jesus and Mary can do that. But of course, I know that the encantos divinos try to do that. Were the authors elementals then?
I think the words, “At worst” were very apt since I find it worse to put one’s priorities aside just to lift somebody up unless it’s a prioritized situation such as an emergency. But to treat someone like a baby when he or she is already an adult is unbecoming and would only spoil the person. “Too busy” is in my vocabulary and I can’t possibly find time for those who can’t find time for the Lord who has commissioned me.
Alright, keep on wondering and don’t include us because we are not essential. Have you forgotten? Only God is essential. And do not overwork because we can no longer give you the attention you need. And let us not talk of love if it’s only love for one’s self is paramount needing attention and the lifting despite priorities.
Let me tell you a few things.
Fear the day when the Twin Hearts give up on you.
Skies don’t get gray just because your hearts have turned cold.
And sunshine and darkness both have reasons complementing each other. We were not taught to become just fair-weather friends.
It’s not for us to say if our hearts have turned cold because the tears we shed are warm.
Ask yourself then where the coldness started?
But even here, I would like to use reductio ad absurdum for the premises made. I want to test their logic amidst the beautiful poetry.
One makes excuses for another. (Judas excuses the Pharisees about Jesus.)
Even if the other doesn’t excuse himself. (Even if the Pharisees didn’t excuse themselves.)
Therefore, he has a good heart? (Ergo, Judas has a good heart?)
Of course, this is absurd! Then let’s take one also from recent history:
Lyndon B. Johnson took part in planning JFK’s assassination.
He excused Jackie Kennedy for accusing him even if she didn’t ask to be excused.
Therefore, LBJ has a good heart?
Let’s try the next one.
One accepts apology never made. (Pilate accepts Caiaphas apology never made.)
He just assumes it. (Pilate assumes Caiaphas was sorry for involving him.)
He has a good heart? (Ergo, Pilate has a good heart?)
And from recent history:
Ivan Lenin accepts Joseph Stalin’s apology for his criminal acts which was never made.
Lenin simply assumed that Joseph Stalin was sorry for the countless people he killed.
Therefore, Lenin has a good heart?
So, you see, it is a non sequitur. It does not follow. Do you follow?
