The Holy Mass: The Different Levels of Celebration

The Holy Mass is where we are united with Christ through the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Our faith and worship to God are strengthened by giving more adoration, making sacrifices, and strengthening our faith and worship. We have a tradition of attending Holy Mass on Sunday mornings. If you’re unable to make it to morning mass, you can still come in the afternoon. Those who are unable to attend may choose to attend on weekdays or on Saturdays. If you attempt to attend on Sunday afternoon or weekdays, you will notice some distinctions from the Sunday morning Mass. The reason is that the Mass has various levels of celebration. We will explore the different levels of the Holy Mass celebration for both the Traditional Latin Mass and the Novus Ordo Mass here.
Confession Before Taking the Communion

Confession is one of the seven Holy Sacraments of the Catholic Church that is very vital before taking the Holy Communion during the Holy Mass. Why is it important for us Catholics to confess and receive absolution before we take the Blessed Sacrament? Because we must be in “state of grace” when we received our Lord. “State of Grace” means we are absolved from our sins that we’ve done and our soul is cleansed during the Sacrament of Penance.
How To Attend The Traditional Latin Mass (For The First Time)

The traditional Latin Mass or Tridentine Mass was used and celebrated by the Church before Pope Paul VI introduced the Novus Ordo Mass in 1969. At the moment, TLM is only utilized by traditional Catholic societies or priests who have a preference for celebrating it. It is no longer common for the Catholic faithful, and even our priests today don’t know how to celebrate it or even speak Latin, the language of the Church. The majority of the faithful are unaware that this particular Mass is still in existence. For those who are interested or want to try it out, here are the basic steps to attend:
The Spiritual Communion

In 2020, the Novel Coronavirus or mostly known as Covid-19 from China has spread all over the world and forced every country to lockdown. This resulted to the prohibition of mass gatherings which includes the attendance to the Holy Mass. It is very important to us Catholics to attend the Holy Mass and take the Holy Communion but the pandemic has prevented many of the faithful to go the church because of the government’s policy. It is a sin if we don’t attend the Holy Mass, however, the Catholic Church has solution for its members who cannot do so. This solution is always part of the Catholic Tradition and has been used in previous generations. This is called “The Spiritual Communion”.
IN CHRIST. Thou shall not hunger and thirst

And Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst. – John 6: 35
When Jesus saw the need to feed about five thousand people he sought a way with his apostles. Andrew did see a boy with 5 barley loaves and two fish. From here Jesus took the loaves: and when he had given thanks, he distributed and also of the fishes shared to the multitudes. A miracle witnessed by many.
How to Dress Properly in the Mass

In our generation today, wearing clothes that we like is part of our daily lives. Some of us wear what is most compatible to us and some of us follow the fashion trends. When we go to work, some companies have dress codes or uniforms which are mandatory just like in school. When it comes to going to the mass, what should we wear? Do we have to wear what we usually wear inside our house? Clothes that we wear when we go to the mall or any places? If companies have uniforms, the Catholic Church also have dress codes whenever we enter the church or we attend the Holy Mass.
How to Take the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist

The Holy Eucharist is the center of the Holy Mass. Our Lord Jesus Christ chose the bread and wine to be his Body and Blood for us to take and unite with Him. For many centuries, the Holy Communion is the most important sacrament for the Catholics, including the apostles and the saints. But today, there are two ways on taking the Holy Communion, the “Communion on the tongue while kneeling” and the “communion in the hand while standing”. But which of these two are the proper and right way?
Different Kinds of Holy Mass

In the Catholic Church, every special event or feast day always have a mass to celebrate. Even the faithful can request a special mass to intended for a family or friend who departed from this world. But some of us are unaware that there are different kinds of Holy Mass. Here is the list of different kinds of Holy Mass.
The Eucharist in Christianity

The Holy Eucharist is one of the important sacraments in the Catholic Church that we must take especially during the Mass. It is the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ. But the Catholic Church is not the only religion that has this Blessed Sacrament, but other Christian religions or sects has their own Eucharist. So, what is the difference of the Catholic Church’s Eucharist to other Christian religions? Is their Eucharist become the real body and blood of Christ?
The Mass is a Group of Prayers

Why is it important that the Mass must be celebrated in a solemn way and not an ordinary celebration like a party or a concert-type just like we witness in some Novus Ordo Masses? Most people today like the mass that is very entertaining, but some people prefer solemn traditional rites. Is the Sacrifice of the Mass instituted for the flock’s amusement? Is it really vital for the Church to empathize if people are entertained or not? In our generation, most people think that way. This is a result of the lack of Catholic education after the Vatican II Council.
The Mass of Ages

The Holy Mass is a very important to the Catholic Faith, it is a sin if we don’t attend the mass every Sunday. That is why traditionally, Catholics must attend the Holy Mass. We are currently living in the 21st Century, where the mass that most people currently attend is the Mass of Pope Paul VI during the Vatican II Council, which is now commonly known as Novus Ordo Mass or the Ordinary Form of the Mass. But this Mass is not what usually used by the Catholic Church in the past.
