Counter Terrorism with the Holy Communion of Saints

You are a combatant for the Church Militant and you don’t know your unit commanders? You might as well be one of those unrecognized militia outfits who only know Jesus Christ as their Commander-in-Chief, and yet chances are, He does not even know them as His men.

Christians and even Catholics are usually terrorized by agents of the sovereignties and powers that are in constant warfare with the Church. Disguised in countless intel ways, they suddenly come in possession of someone known to us or they suddenly charge while we have our guard down.
And so perhaps, a review of the military commanders of His Heavenly host is in order, knowing that the Commander-in-Chief does not need to come only for skirmishes or small-time encounters. Anyway, everyone knows that every creature kneels at the mention of His Holy Name.

But who else are we gonna call? Would it surprise you to know that Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mother, is always there as our Perpetual Succor. She has done splendid jobs in Lepanto, La Naval, Vienna and in many other battles. In fact, she had rarely been seen at times, also in armor by the infidels who despair just in the sight of her. Not even the dragon or the serpent can do anything to fight her. This is why she tramples on its head, even if he is barefooted or discalced. How does she do that? Are you not yet aware that she is the Immaculate Conception and therefore, the source of sin or even the coming man of sin is powerless against her. Therefore, use very well her sacramentals and the holy weapon she has given mankind, the Holy Rosary.

Then there is Saint Joseph, her earthly spouse and Foster Father of the Lord, the Terror of demons. What is their problem with this Field Marshal? Simple, for all their diabolical strategies, they can not also read his mind. They wouldn’t know how and where he might strike in protecting the church Christ established. Even when he was still on earth as the Head of the Sacred Family, Heaven saw to it that he is properly advised by the Angel. Surel, if we call on him to safeguard our own families, he will do just that.

And the Voice in the Wilderness, St. John, the Baptist, the one who prays for our birth and deliverance in the Spirit. As we all know, the wilderness is the haunt of evil spirits, but this hermit cousin of the Lord chose to engage with them terrorizing the inhabitants of this wild country. And with the martyr’s blood he shares with his Commander-in-Chief, how can he be denied also the necessary aid during a diabolical attack?

Of course, the archangels are there. God’s ruling military junta who scares the legions and minions out of wit. Sadly however Catholics, even Vatican II priests, knew only three of the seven. Yes, the popular ones are St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Rafael. The others have been oblivious about Catholic oral traditions which are honored in old church paintings. People of old still know them, St. Uriel, St. Judiel, St. Seattle and St. Barachiel. I think it’s incumbent for a soldier to know the other members of the staff, the other unit commanders. I think it’s worthwhile knowing them more than knowing the members of BTS or Blackpink or being keen in enumerating the almost naked angels in the Hollywood entertainment industry.

And why have you forgotten your guardian angel? Just because you’re no longer a child? Does it mean that you no longer need him? Do you know who assists St. Padre Pio when he is bilocating? Do you know who plows the field when St. Isidore wanted to go to the mass and is being prevented by his stern master? Who wakes you from sleep when you are about to fall from your seat while traveling? Who is it that keeps you awake all of a sudden because there is something of an emergency to you? Oh, you have forgotten your buddy in battle. Please keep your faithful buddy so you can keep your soul.
